Lower back pain, minor or not, can hinder your everyday life.  Although you can do plenty of lower back pain exercises, it’s important to find the cause of your pain.

Did you strain your back recently?  Do you live in a labor-intensive lifestyle or have a job that involves heavy lifting?  Are you overweight?  These are just a few of the possible causes of lower back pain.  Changing the way you go about your daily work as well as doing a few lower back pain exercises can help reduce or completely erase your pain.


If you strained your back recently, it’s important not to strain the muscles further.  Originally, it was recommended to not engage your back muscles until fully healed.  However, lightweight exercises and controlled stretching can help strengthen and heal the back muscles.  Icing your back or applying BioFreeze (or other similar products) can also help speed up the healing process.  Make sure you read the directions when using products of this nature.  Also, taking an anti-inflammatory can ease pain.


Some jobs require heavy lifting.  Whether you’re lifting boxes, computer equipment, furniture, or something else that’s either heavy or bulky, you’ll want to make sure you’re lifting correctly.  Never lift with your back.  Lower back muscles are intended to support your upper body.  At the point when you lift, keep your back straight and lift with your legs. No strain should be put on your back in any way.  Doing so can cause serious damage or throw something out of alignment.


If you’re overweight, don’t worry.  Being overweight can contribute to lower back pain, but walking for thirty minutes a day can have surprising results for weight loss.  It’s important to walk correctly.  Keep your back straight, head up, and don’t bounce or wobble from side to side when in stride.  Although there are some minor back stretches and lower back pain exercises you can do to ease pain, being overweight puts a constant strain on your lower back.  Drop some weight and you’ll feel a world of difference.
